Ready to become a true master of the decks? Our Advanced DJ Course is designed for experienced DJs looking to refine their craft, unlock new techniques, and push the boundaries of their performances.

In this online course, you'll learn:

  • Advanced Rekordbox
Advanced features in Rekordbox 7 significantly enhance DJing capabilities. The dual player enables efficient mixing by allowing DJs to jump between sections of tracks. Beat jumping speeds up transitions, while memory loops automate looping tasks. Key syncing aligns tracks harmonically for seamless mixing. Performance mode supports complex mixing across genres, and isolation mode technology lets DJs manipulate specific frequencies for creative expression. Controllers add functionalities, ensuring consistency in hot cues and effects.
  • Advanced Pitch Techniques
Mixing techniques are crucial for DJs using multiple decks. Starting with mixing at plus 10 speed helps bridge a 5% BPM gap. For three to four decks, the plus six setting is ideal for similar BPMs. Fine-tuning BPMs in smaller increments improves synchronization. A method to sync tracks involves setting them to the slowest BPM. Maintaining sync is vital for longer mixes, allowing DJs to focus on layering tracks effectively.
  • DJ Riders & 3+4 Deck Mixing
Every DJ has a unique setup called a rider, which outlines their equipment preferences. The DJ MV 10 mixer stands out with its six channels and four band EQ, enhancing sound blending. Comparisons with the V 10 and A nine mixers reveal differences in effects and sound quality. The V 10 and RMX are crucial for elevating DJ performances, especially during buildups.
  • Full V10 overview
The V10 mixer stands out for DJs with its versatile features, including a four band EQ for precise sound blending and six channels for connecting external devices. It offers unique built-in effects on channel one, various send effects, and a unique filter system for improved mixing. The dual headphone feature supports back-to-back setups, while compression enhances loudness without overpowering. The isolator functionality allows for live EQ adjustments.
  • Full V10 Effects Walkthrough
The V10 mixer provides a range of effects for DJing, including echo, reverb, and spiral, each serving specific purposes. Echo aids transitions, while delay adds layers. The ping pong effect creates sound movement, and the helix effect allows pitch changes. Reverb adds space, and shimmer combines reverb and delay. Filters manage dynamics, and the transform effect creates cuts. The roll effect overlays beats, and the RMX 1000 integration enhances versatility.
  • Slip Loops
The slip function introduces a unique looping mechanism in music, allowing tracks to play continuously while creating small loops. This technique is ideal for crafting fills without interrupting the music's flow. Adjusting slip loop sizes enhances creativity, while the hot queue feature enables quick track jumps for seamless transitions. Used wisely, slip loops can serve as effective drum fills and enhance vocal transitions, contributing to hypnotic musical experiences.
  • BeatJumps, MemoryLoops And Other Techniques
Explore advanced mixing techniques that focus on three and four deck mixing. Learn about the beat jump feature for efficient performance and the importance of memory loops for track continuity. Discover layering techniques that enhance sound with effects and vocal integration. Acapellas add depth, while cutting techniques create dynamic transitions, showcasing the art of DJing in a loopy techno style.
  • Track Tagging
DJs manage extensive playlists during long sets and can tag tracks for later play using CDJs. This tagging enhances organization and helps avoid sifting through large libraries. Keeping playlists organized is crucial for recalling tracks during extended performances or after parties.
  • Key Sync
Key sinking is a transformative technique for mixing tracks, allowing DJs to change the key of a track for better flow and style blending. A new feature in record box enhances this process, making it easier to match tracks. Training is crucial for effective use, especially when shifting more than two keys. Demonstrations highlight its application in transitions and breakdowns, ensuring smooth energy levels and seamless drops.
  • Rmx1000 Walkthrough
The RMX 1000 is a standout tool for DJs, offering unique features and personal usage insights. It compares effects with V tens, showing a preference for mixer effects. Techniques for applying reverb on snares and creating percussion fills are shared. Layering with the overdub feature helps in crafting new rhythms. The discussion also covers effective set endings, buildups, and transitions, along with future predictions for RMX enhancements.
  • Slip Reverse
CDJ playback techniques involve playing music in both forward and backward motion. Reversing sections creates creative transitions, while the split reverse function allows for seamless playback. The slip reverse technique is ideal for playing sections in reverse before a drop, which enhances the overall mix.
  • Ending a set
A look into best ways to close out and end a set, using loops, effects, rmx1000 and touch breaks and slowing down pitch.
